Nowadays man's labor consist more and more of inside office jobs. More than 30% of the day is spent in the office.
The condition of a building and its climate installation is becoming one of the leading parameters for man's well-being and productivity. As man tends to become more sensitive for allergen, the indoor air quality becomes one of the most important health control aspects in the years to come. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 30% of the buildings may be "sick" based on the criteria that 20% or more of the occupants may be experiencing health or comfort problems.
After a careful design of a building and its climate installation, maintenance is the key to a healthy indoor climate.
To ensure an optimal indoor air climate, a well-maintained climate installation is necessary. Another benefit from a well-maintained installation is the control of energy-consumption. Polluted installations will use more power due to increased resistance. For example: condensers of air conditioning systems might have a power-consumption raise of 20% due to corrosion and pollution. Costs of regular maintenance and investments in corrosion protection can therefore be regained by energy-use reduction but even more by reduction of health costs and productivity increase.
